Artist Biography Toni Chiapelli is a visual artist who sees and shares the intrinsic beauty of everything around her. She prides herself in being able to pay attention to the essence of something ~ oftentimes using avante garde methods to reveal it. As a result, her work is highly progressive, cerebral, intuitive, unique and often transcendental in its approach. Ms. Chiapelli has independently studied photography for over 16 years, preferring to think “outside of the box” of traditional education which has allowed the artist many personal and artistic freedoms. Toni’s subjects range from figurative abstracts, still lifes, erotica, landscapes, and most recently weddings and portraiture. With portraiture, her style varies from classical 20th century soft-focus, to goddess images of strength, decisiveness and stunning feminine energy. Whether it’s for a wedding, a portrait or a fine art series, Ms. Chiapelli believes that each session is a collaboration between herself and the subject(s). Toni prides herself in creating a comfortable, creative environment in which everything is possible ~ especially beauty. The results are tangible, reliable, creative and unique. Originally from Royal Oak, Michigan, Toni Chiapelli has traveled the globe for years in order to bring the beauty of the natural and man-made worlds back to you. Among her favorite destinations are Italy, Greece, Thailand and the Czech Republic. Toni Chiapelli is a vital part of the art scene both regionally in California and nationwide. Her unique approach has gained international recognition providing numerous solo and group exhibitions including the Portland Art Museum, Newport Fine Art Gallery, Monterey Museum of Art and the Alameda Art Center. She draws most of her artistic influence from the Surrealists, Man Ray, Immogen Cunningham, Salvador Dali, Margaret Bourke-White, Philippe Fichot, Joel-Peter Witkin, Sally Mann and other various teachers. Her work can be found in private and public collections throughout Michigan, Oregon, California, Montana, Italy, Japan, Korea and the Netherlands. |
